CM is structured to efficiently operate in the large, complex federal enterprise electronic security system (ESS) environment where multiple projects are simultaneously executed at multiple locations. At the corporate level, Chenega Corporation, our parent company, is a multi-million dollar company that provides backend support and an extensive line of credit to enable CISS to function as a large business. We have DCAA systems and ISO-compliant processes.
Our ESS lifecycle support is addressed in four functional areas:
Resource Management is responsible for the allocation of resources across the programs. We maintain a detailed Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to utilize our resources to the fullest extent. We intentionally staff our programs lean and bring in subcontractors to help carry the load. This process enables us to move personnel around to start up new programs and backfill on existing contracts with our subcontractors and it provides cost savings to our customers.
Project Management delivers contract requirements. Our PMs handle the day-to-day operations. Execution of contracts and customer relationships are the top priorities for our PMs.
Design and Engineering is responsible for creating all of the documentation required for a fully integrated and fully functional ESS. Our personnel are degreed engineers with extensive experience in the cleared security environment. Our engineers are supported by a team of dedicated AutoCAD professionals and SOPs define areas of responsibilities and the quality control process.
The Operation and Maintenance (O&M) is responsible for ESS sustainment. CM has strategically partnered with companies that enhance our capabilities and give us the large footprint required to support national programs. We use a Maintenance Management System (MMS) to track every work order through the end-to-end process, whether it involves a major upgrade project or a simple repair.

Planning—Establishing customer needs and timeline, culminating in Authority to Proceed (ATP)
Site Survey—Comprehensive development of site requirements resulting in preliminary design
Design—Based on the approved preliminary design by customer, a detailed design is developed
Procure—Based on approved design by customer, a Bill of Materials (BOM) is produced and procured to support the system deployment
Install/Integration—The system is installed based on the detail designed and then tested to meet all design requirements
Close Out/Sustainment— Based on successful Field Acceptance Test, customer signs off on final delivery
